Travel Options
This retreat begins on August 5th, however, you will need to make travel arrangements to arrive by the 4th for Orientation. You are welcome to make your own arrangements, but we also have travel packages you can choose from which will be booked directly through Action Whitewater Adventures (contact info below).
If you are flying into Boise, you still have to arrive on August 4th, but can get there at any time. If you are utilizing our Boise to Boise package, we will have a hotel for you in Boise. There will not be anyone to meet you in Boise, nor will there be an orientation. You'll be booked on a 6 AM charter flight to bring you over to Salmon on August 5th. The hotel has a shuttle bus that will take you back to the airport that morning. Make sure to reserve the 5:40 AM shuttle when you check-in. You will receive your gear when you arrive in Salmon and the guides will do orientation with you down at the river. if you are flying into Boise and are thinking about renting a car, please be aware that there is nowhere to turn in your rental. You will have to pay for the vehicle while you are on the river and pay to have it shuttled from Salmon to McCall. Which you can definitely do, but I just want you to be aware of what that would look like!
If you are driving a car, you need to be in Salmon, ID by 7:00 PM on August 4th. We will be hosting our orientation at 7:30 pm at the Stagecoach Inn on the back lawn by the river. This is where you will receive your dry bag, your sleeping bag, and your ammo can. We'll go over what to expect on the river, answer any questions, and let you know when and where to meet the bus the following morning. If you are having your vehicle shuttled, this is also where we will fill out the contract for the shuttle.
